What Is the Function of a Safety Control System?

The main function of the safety control system is to provide a highly reliable means of safety protection, to avoid the unsafe state of related equipment to the greatest extent, to prevent the occurrence of vicious accidents or to minimize losses after accidents, to protect production equipment and most importantly personal safety. It can provide safety protection for equipment during the start-up, stop, process disturbance and normal maintenance operations of production equipment. Once the equipment is in a dangerous situation, the safety control system can immediately respond and output the correct signal to put the equipment in a safe state or shut down.

Application of safety control systems in different fields

Safety control systems are widely used in many fields. For example, in the power system, the safety and stability control system (referred to as the stability control system) is an important line of defense to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid. When the system is in an emergency state, various emergency control measures are implemented to restore the system to normal operation. In coal mine safety production, the application of safety monitoring systems has played an important role and promoted the continuous progress of coal mine production.

Working principle and components of safety control system

The entire control process of the safety control system includes sensor input signals, controller processing of the collected signals, and then output to the protection device. The input signals detected include emergency stop signals, proximity switch signals, travel switch signals, pressure feedback signals, voltage and power supply monitoring signals, liquid level signals, etc. Since these safety controls use common industrial devices, some faults may occur, causing the safety control system to fail, unable to protect the equipment, and causing safety hazards.
